For villagers who would like to advertise via this site please request the website proforma from the contacts below. We will then upload the info onto this website for you.
If you are using an agent to sell or rent your property, just send through the agent’s web link to the contacts below, which we will post here, so that interested buyers can access the listing directly.
We would suggest you use this site before you engage an agent as the Village network is very effective and many properties are sold before they reach the commercial market just through word of mouth. This can save both vendor and purchaser many hard earned $$$. It also gives direct access to knowledge of the Village and an understanding of Village life. Indeed, each listing on the website has been getting 200 or so views and therefore listing on this website (at least initially) is an opportunity to attract potential residents to the Village who have information beyond that provided by real estate agents.
For those of you who are new to the Village, please read the short description below:
Aldinga Arts Eco Village is Community Title 21109 Inc. We provide a free web-based service to lot owners seeking to sell or rent their property but we are not involved in property sales or management. Descriptions and details about the property are provided by the property owner and all enquiries should be directed to the owner or agent.
By-laws include housing energy efficiency standards and a one pet policy (with transition arrangements agreed).
Common land areas including a farm, and services such as streetlighting, roads, and a wastewater treatment plant are owned and maintained by the Community, not Council. Maintenance is funded via levies.
Every lot must provide a minimum 10,000L rainwater for day-to-day water supply. Mains water is available to refill tanks if/when they run dry.
We rely on community involvement (volunteering) for much of the work and maintenance of our social and physical infrastructure. Without everyone contributing to the social, community or physical maintenance of the Village, we wouldn’t exist.
The Village has over 1000 fruit and nut trees that are the backbone of our permaculture ethos and are managed collectively via working bees. Our landscape is both edible and native. The eco in our name is important to us.
