Aldinga Arts EcoVillage, one of the first and largest settlements of its kind in South Australia, will be hosting its Open Day on Sunday 5th November 10am to 4pm. Nestled in a beautiful setting alongside the Willunga Creek, the village is home to a community of over 300 people, living in low-energy homes amongst shared orchards and gardens, combining environmental sensitivity and artistic creativity.
Open Day visitors can join walks, talks and tours of some of the energy-efficient houses, permaculture gardens and artist studios. A walk through the village’s organic farm will take in the abundant orchards, the “tiny house”, the award winning Village Greens Market Garden, composting and the community waste-water treatment plant.
Morning tea, afternoon tea and lunch will be available all day and visitors will be entertained by roving performers.
Admission is $15 for adults, $5 for kids, littlies free. Family/concessions available.
Aldinga Arts EcoVillage is at 173 Port Road, Aldinga, just outside the old Aldinga township.
Plenty of parking is available.
