The next stage of revegetating Willunga Creek – on the northern boundary of the village – will be happening on June 19, 10-3. If you are passionate about restoring life to the land that surrounds us – please join us – and mark the date in your diary.
The event is being run by the Urban Forest team from State Government and is being advertised to the public. They are expecting it to be a big one – apparently for the past few years around 60 Buddhist monks have been attending their planting event near Gulls Rock at Maslins but this year they want to come to help us. How special will that be? And apparently they sing to the plants afterwards.
You will see much activity on Bowering Hill over Autumn and Winter, with the cultivation of ripping lines, and the direct seeding of native grasses and shrubs – all being done by Urban Forest staff and firies in their off season. A map of their works and the planting event flyer are right here.
